Information

A banker and a musician: Makoto Ito is a unique singer songwriter who has straddled two careers simultaneously. His music touches the heart of many, but his music resonates in particular with people fighting illnesses and the more mature crowd. A song that he wrote during his time living as a banker in Spain, acts as a bridge for Spain and Japan and it is called "Madrid Ondo". Although the music was written 20 years ago, it is still loved by the Spanish people and Japanese residents in Spain alike. It's also the music that brings Japanese and Spanish people together to dance during the annual summer Bon 0dori festival in Madrid every year. This is a record of his history, him performing the "Madrid Ondo" at the time he was invited to perform for the 400th anniversary of Japan-Spain cultural relations, as well as his thoughts on another one of his pieces "Inochi no Uta or the Music of Life".
