Building a more resilient country

Disaster management in Japan

For many years, Japan has been striving to make itself a more resilient and safer country based on the lessons learned from various kinds of natural disasters, including typhoons, torrential rain, and earthquakes.
In order to create a more resilient nation, various research institutions and enterprises are actively working on the development of new disaster-management technologies.
Moreover, new initiatives have been launched to provide reassuring information about the country’s safety to the ever-increasing number of inbound tourists.

The program introduces how Japan has achieved rehabilitation and reconstruction in the aftermath of disasters by considering those that occurred last summer and presents some cutting-edge examples of new disaster-management technologies.
Including the opinions of some foreign residents, the program reveals the overall picture of Japan’s disaster-management efforts.
