Information

Linking Hiroshima and Ehime Prefectures, the sea route of the Shimanami Kaido spans islands scattered across the Seto Inland Sea, offering stunning views along its course.
The American network CNN named the route one of "the world's seven best cycling courses," and today the Shimanami Kaido is gaining attention worldwide as it plays hosts to international cycling competitions. The route draws travelers with its views of whirling sea currents, the magnificent natural bounty of its island settings, and of course the delicious local cuisine! For our program, we produced an authentic and original Makunouchi lunch box, featuring carefully selected ingredients from the Shimanami Kaido area and thirteen nearby prefectures.
The gourmet celebrity Tsutomu Sekine and Junichi Komoto from the comedy team of Jicho-Kacho join forces to cross the Kaido on a quest for this unique lunch box.
